COVID-19's economic aftershocks have hit the hospitality industry especially hard. Experts say it may not return to pre-pandemic levels until 2023, as hospitality workers bear the brunt of this long downturn.

In August, Nevada reported the highest unemployment rate at 13.2%, up from 3.8% in August of last year. Unemployment rates remained in the double digits for 9 other states, including New York and California.

As ususal, the most vulnerable are given the least assistance. The money is not going to those who need it most. The Trump/GOP agenda of making COVID-19 a lifestyle, instead of a moment, only makes the recovery that much more difficult.
