That's not new to the pandemic; Szafranski has always begun his day that early to meet with Prezi's European offices. But he said his pandemic habits have made it a little easier. Prezi Video, according to Szafranski, saw 40 times growth in April. A lot of that came from teachers, who found themselves suddenly thrust into remote learning. Prezi has focused on beefing up features for that product, and rolling out new design products for all of the meetings that are suddenly virtual.
"I think one thing that I've set as a tone for the company is that this virus is not a fair thing," he said. "But what we are going to try to do is optimize when we can. If your office is going to be open, but San Francisco is not yet, we try to take the positive view of it, which is, well, it's great that our colleagues in Europe can can be doing that."
