Iloilo City, 2 municipalities garner national business awards

– Three local government units and a major business group in Iloilo won national awards at the 46Iloilo under the new normal.

Foremost of these awards went to Iloilo City under the leadership of Mayor Jerry Treñas, which was awarded a Special Recognition as the Most Business-Friendly LGU outside of Metro Manila. It was the only LGU in the Visayas to be recognized as such. The town of Mina in Iloilo province, under the leadership of Mayor Rey Grabato, was named Most Business-Friendly LGU in the Municipality Level for Third to Fifth Classes in the entire country.

The town of Concepcion in northern Iloilo province, under the leadership of Mayor Raul Banias, was also given a special citation as Most Business-Friendly LGU in the Municipality Level (3rd-5th Classes. PCCI-Iloilo Chapter, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Sandra Sarabia Gomez and President Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida, was also awarded a special recognition for its regional response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by treasurer Maritess Lim, the PCCI-Iloilo Chapter had conducted various outreach activities since lockdown begun last March.
