The Massachusetts Democrat cites news stories about executives having their pay restored just before the layoffs were disclosed.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Monday penned a letter to Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Chapek and chairman Bob Iger concerning the recent theme park layoffs the company made, which officials largely blamed on California for not allowing Disneyland to reopen.on Sept. 29 that 28,000 employees would be laid off, a lion's share from Disneyland, but also some from Florida's Walt Disney World, which reopened in phases back in July.

In her letter, the Massachusetts Democrat cited news stories about Disney executives having their pay restored to full just before the layoffs were announced.

Newsom has still not budged, saying last week that he was in"no hurry" to allow theme parks to reopen. However, after he was

She’s a joke, preaching about business to one of the top CEOs of the last 20 years. The unwarranted ego on this woman who has accomplished nothing is unbelievable.

.WaltDisneyWorld WaltDisneyCo: I thought when you dropped Fox it was because you had a conscience. Now, your commercials touting the re-opening of your parks -- which will only endanger everyone who steps foot in them -- remind me daily of just how wrong I was.

If GavinNewsom would opencalifornia pocahontas wouldn’t have to write meaningless letters.

WTF?! You have much more important things to do Warren... Eyeroll!

Short sighted business decisions are a fundamental problem w/how capitalism is practiced in the US. calling out specific instances of that is a first step. Warren questions like a pit bull. Wait until she’s part of Biden admin.

Bob got paid

She’s still upset they didn’t give her the title role in their upcoming Pocahontas movie.

I hope it was written on relatively soft, flexible paper that produces a good wipe.

Oh that’ll change things

So... she's telling the truth then

There are MANY former employees that can attest to what a terrible company they were to work for.

Liz is not very good with facts anyways. She got ahead in life by claiming she was an Indian.

I don't see any inaccuracies pointed out in your article. In fsct she seems right and Disney comes off as prioritizing their own profit over the lives of their customers and their employees. The headline is wrong, unless Disney execs have anything to say.

Misinformed ..... yeah right ..... then answer her questions ...... restoring executive salary to its original compensation during a pandemic is a BS move

You go ewarren!!! Keep them running scared! Disney and other large entertainment conglomerates are not used to being questioned or challenged in any way. It hurts their image, and it SHOULD. This is how big business works. Elizabeth Warren is exposing how the sausage is made.

kind of a shit headline

woowee big government remake bit childish

Does warren have nothing better to do?

First and foremost, why are you posting a photo of EW looking frantic? Is this to help paint a picture to the casual reader that she's wrong, or didn't bring receipts?

When somebody responds with 'inaccurate,' that's not denying the basis of something; it just means there is an immaterial mistake, like: A person robbed a bank on Thursday, but it's wrongly reported he robbed it on Wednesday. Yeah, but he still robbed a bank. Disney is sneaky.

They say “a number of inaccuracies” but only name one. I wonder....

SenWarren is spot on. For all of their claims of being a 'family company' Disney has proven time & time again that it is a soulless malevolent corporate machine with no care for its employees/customers. All of their sjw overtures are just a distraction for its ruthless behavior.

Senator Warren is correct. For years Bob Iger and top executives have received hefty along with outrageous compensation packages. While the workers at Disney were barely getting minimum wage. It’s only in recent years have they received minimum wages. I don’t think this is 1/2

GraceRandolph wanted to get your thoughts, if possible. I’m not sure I’m following all of this. 😕

business wise with no money coming in from Disneyland and probably just enough to break even at Disneyworld this is the proper course of action for a business to take. If our government didn’t botch the control of covid19 this wouldn’t of happened. (See South Korea)

Fucking this!! They did Onward, their best film in years, so dirty. 😞 RobertIger

GraceRandolph I’m actually glad someone is calling Disney put on prioritizing top executives over their lower level employees!
