U.S. crude oil and fuel stocks fell last week, data from industry group the American Petroleum Institute showed on Wednesday.

Crude inventories fell by 5.4 million barrels in the week to Oct. 9 to about 495.4 million barrels, compared with analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll for a draw of 2.8 million barrels.Refinery crude runs fell by 601,000 barrels per day, API data showed.

Gasoline stocks fell by 1.5 million barrels, compared with analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll for a draw of 1.6 million barrels. Distillate fuel inventories, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 3.9 million barrels, compared with expectations for a draw of 2.1 million barrels.Our Standards:
