The risk of COVID-19 infection on flights is 'very low,' and 1 infected passenger would take 54 hours to spread the virus to others onboard, a US government study found

Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. It indicates a way to close an interaction, or dismiss a notification.Research commissioned by the US Department of Defense has found the risk of getting infected by airborne COVID-19 on flights is "very low."

If only one passenger on a Boeing 767 or 777 flight is infected, it would take a flight of around 54 hours for others onboard to get an infectious dose of the virus, researchers found. However, researchers acknowledged that the test was limited because it was based on the flight having just one infected passenger, and didn't involve passengers moving around the cabin.

Mannequins with and without face masks sat throughout the aircraft during both ground and in-flight tests. Fluorescent aerosol tracer particles were released at two-second intervals to simulate an infected passenger breathing. On average, the tracer particles remained detectable within the cabin for less than six minutes. In a typical American home, this figure would be around 90 minutes, researchers said.

USTRANSCOM invested in the study to see if its COVID-19 safety measures are providing the safest possible means of transportation.

bullshit study to get people flying again If this is true there is no reason at all to restrict any close contact at all.

Cant eat inside a restaurant for 45 minutes but can breath recirculated air for 5 hours, it’s circus 🤡

Did Fauci sign off? I only believe in the Fauci science...

Ummmmm......🧐

Bullshht

Time to drop that mask mess Delta unmaskflights

Ha ha . Yeah right

Don’t believe a word of any of it. Shambolic is being polite. Its a virus not the bubonic plague

But runs rampant at church? 🙄

That's funny because this Korean study had every single person a n95 mask and it still spread. Was this a Trump study?

:) :) :) Yeah sure :)

New business strategy that will fail

It needs to be highlighted that this was conducted with participation of the airline industry. Bc there is no stmt about it, one should assume that participation includes monetarily. Also, neither article links to the actual study, which is highly suspect. I could go on

What’s funny is the pic depicts people correctly wearing masks. Most people wear them below the nose and many just wear them as chin straps on planes.

Airline industry still has enough money to buy this study, good for them they don’t need a stimulus

To ANY other or to ALL others?

*Please dont be afraid to spend your money on airfare, but dont you dare risk going to church or having a birthday party at your home.

Lies !!!

Sitting together for hours with recycled air and MAGA nuts not wearing their mask sounds safe, ok Trump study!

So, having 20 people over for Thanksgiving shouldn't be a problem then.

What if there is 1 passenger is infected ?..

Driving to your destination making stops along the way is much more infectious than flying.

Lies

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

These Studies are getting people more confused than anything. So people can't come to my House for 10 Minutes but I can stay LOCKED inside an airplane with somebody who is infected and the risk is very low? So why did they Shut Down Travels exactly?

This study has been paid for by the airline industry alliance 😂 Iam sure it's legit tho.

good

Got it, so kids should be in school full time?
