“I remain of the view that the possibility of wider spread use of vaccines isn’t going to be until spring of next year” Sir Patrick Vallance says we need to be “cautious” but there is “good progress” in terms of a vaccine Latest:

Lastly, Jane Kirby of the Press Association asked Sir Patrick Vallance if a decent level of roll-out of a potential vaccine is achieved by next spring, how soon people might be able to stop social distancing and wearing face coverings.

Sir Patrick replies first, insisting he will not speculate on how effective the vaccines are going to be, but says once we know how effective they are, it could be determined"how to use them best".

All MP’s should have the vaccine first. If it works, they can get straight on with the task of recovering the economy they unnecessarily trashed. If it doesn’t, it will save us removing them in 2024.

No thanks

Yes, you only have one death so far from it

Lockdown sceptic Carol McGiffin: 'I think they want everyone to forget what normal is'

Anyone else given up watching these clowns or just me?

Herd immunity is the only way to end this. Looks like we may get that before a vaccine is found or rolled out. It will naturally slow anyway as more people recover.

I remain skeptical

reading so many of the stupid posts here, it's not rocket science to see why virus cases are ramping up 🥱🥱🥱

Your Job Support Scheme is no help for peoples work that are told to stay Close with no revenue coming in at all for nearly 7 months, 67% of there wages ,how can we pay fullRent ,full Council Tax and gas Electricity and Gas and food form 67% per week.

6 months after vaccine and pub here I come

Or let's draw this 'flu' thing out for several more months, then decide that it is not as bad as they first thought. Or, when people buy the vaccine I'll make a lot of money. Just a thought

I wonder if cases go down during half term school break ....kids have spread bugs in school as far as I can remember

Talking out of your arse

Nobody is asking the question what has happened to the flu vaccinations for the 50-64 year olds this year. There is a shortage and looking very likely this group won't get a vaccination due to shortage of supplies.

And yet last week they were saying we may never get an effective vaccine. Mixed messages much?

Optimistic

Cautiously keep your vaccines to yourself

But as the govt vaccine task force has already said - they will not be rolling it out to the young. As you can't separate the young from the vulnerable or 50+ it's going to be much, much longer than spring next year that we can rely on a vaccine.

We need to stop being proud. Ifthe Chinese vaccine is acknowledged to be effective in the coming weeks, we should buy stocks ofvthat. At least for energency cases.

BBCPolitics Interesting use of “wider spread”. Is he suggesting targeted use of vaccine (more vulnerable) before that?

Anyone who thought they'd be in use sooner doesn't realize how slow the process is.

Can I point out , Johnson you're NOT INVOLVED in any way in vaccine research, so stop saying 'we're working flat out..', no. You are doing nothing. Except siphoning off public money for your mates, thats all you are doing.
