as CEO of streamer BritBox, is taking a new job overseeing Amazon's video channels business in the U.S.,As head of Prime Video Channels, she will oversee a business that sells Amazon Prime members subscriptions to third-party streaming services like Showtime and HBO. It's a business she knows well, having sat on the other side as president and CEO of niche streamer BritBox for the last three years.

A key architect of the BritBox platform, Sriraman grew the service — which offers its subscribers access to British television — to 1.5 million subscribers. Earlier this year, the company, which is owned by BBC Studios and ITV, announced it would expand the service into up to 25 countries. Prior to joining BritBox, Sriraman was executive vp of franchise and digital enterprises at BBC Worldwide. She also spent five years in theatrical marketing at Vivendi.

Amazon has been operating Prime Video Channels since 2015, when it added the third-party subscriptions to its lineup of Prime entertainment offerings, which include original TV shows and movies and licensed content. The service is a big business for Amazon. In 2018, BMO Capital Markets estimated that the company would make $3.6 billion in revenue from the offering by 2020.
