Police say a targeted attack on a home in Canberra earlier today could be connected to a business deal that went sour, but is not believed to be drug or gang related.

Police believe they know who shot at a house at Narrabundah in Canberra's south earlier this afternoon.Police believe the shooting was a targeted attack, but the crime was not drug or gang relatedAbout 2:00pm, a gunman approached a home on Goyder Street and fired about five shots into the home and a car parked outside.

"We believe it's potentially a targeted attack on this household, we do not believe it is criminal gang related," Mr Reynolds said. "It's probably more in relation to a business transaction, but not necessarily a recognised business." But Detective Inspector Reynolds said police did not believe the crime was drug-related at this stage, and the occupants of the home were not known to police.Goyder Street has been partially closed while forensics gather evidence.There is no ongoing threat to the public.Posted
