Toyota President Akio Toyoda compared Tesla's business to a restaurant still promoting its recipes.

On Friday, Toyota said it expects to sell around 7.5 million vehicles and to generate an operating profit of 1.3 trillion yen, or about $12.6 billion, for the fiscal year ending in March 2021.

Toyota President Akio Toyoda acknowledged that Tesla's valuation of around $400 billion is sky high, exceeding that of all seven Japanese automakers combined. "I am hesitant to say this -- Tesla's business, if you want to use the analogy, is like that of a kitchen and a chef," Toyoda said. Toyoda called Toyota's offering a "full menu lineup," referring to the company's mix of internal combustion engine, hybrid, pure battery electric and fuel cell electric vehicles.

Nah, Elon is selling walnuts, at least he has nuts 👽

It does, just not in your world that is dying.

If Toyota doesn't start evolving Toyota will be the next nokia

Toyota expects to sell 7.5 million cars and Tesla expected to sell 500k. Toyota is worth half of Tesla in market cap lol.

Hopefully Toyoda is not sitting back and relaxing. It’s like when Apple came out with the iPhone, traditional phone oems were like “eh” and now they are all gone. Toyota could become Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola real soon. Toyota

I believe that they have

What World 🌎 is he living on?

Tesla is in business of selling credits, company stocks and dreams that one day you'll be able to nap on the way to work.

Hmm really?

Market cap - $407b.... PE 822. Enough said.

Real businesses are for suckers.

Real car manufacturers started production on at lease 1 EV model. Tesla will take several years to catch up.

No, but I still want one. elonmusk What’s up? You got me?

Those words can’t hide a reality, one that is showing the wrong direction Toyota is headed, hybrids are no longer an innovation and Hydrogen is lagging way behind BEV, painful future ahead if strategy isn’t changed.

Stay tuned for Season 2.

WTF I worked at a Toyota Plant and they made Tesla parts there. He's insulting his own business partners!

Yeah their CEO isn't even a real person 🥴

I don't see why not, they've only managed to acquire idled plants of American car manufacturers and diversified the company into batteries.

Toyota needs to get on boards or else it won’t be irrelevant within 5 years.

marialcaraz13

That’s wildly bullish!

Tesla airbags work. 😂

elonmusk

Nokia president will agree with him

True.

But Toyota created real business
