Amazon Web Services has lost two chief financial officers in the past year, including one who stepped down for a mysterious new role and then quietly left the company

Amazon Web Services, the market-leading cloud platform ahead of rivals Microsoft and Google Cloud, operates under the auspices of top-level Amazon execs like CEO Jeff Bezos and Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky. However,, thanks to its own executive leadership — headed by Andy Jassy, the CEO of Amazon Web Services, and supported by the chief financial officer.

The changes come as a surprise after Amazon in January said it was Boyle's decision to step down as AWS CFO, and that the company would be announcing his new role "imminently." Boyle's LinkedIn profile lists the title of AWS "VP" between January and August, at which time he appears to have left the company.While it's unclear whether Amazon has replaced the CFO role for AWS, it has named a successor for the consumer side of the business.
