Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella on November 23, 2020 disapproved of the proposal seeking for the revival of the city’s night market.

“I will not agree to the establishment of a night market. There will be no night market,” said LabellaLabella said their primary concern in putting up night markets in the streets downtown was the strict implementation and reinforcement of minimum health standards. Last Friday, the city’s Market Operations Division announced their plans to open night markets this year amid an ongoing public health crisis.
