it will remove user names from the dashboard, effectively anonymizing employee-level data. According to the press release, "This change will ensure that Productivity Score can't be used to monitor individual employees."
Microsoft addressed backlash to its new Productivity Score feature by removing identifiable employee names.in October allows managers and IT admin to track adoption patterns across the entire cloud-based collaboration suite, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and Skype.
The dashboard initially gave managers the ability to drill down into communication trends within the organization, listing employees by name and ranking them by "days sent email" or "days used chat," for example. Managers had the ability to de-identify user and group names, but employee names were included in the Productivity Score dashboard by default.
Microsoft has since emphasized the technical support use case for the Productivity Score, intended for troubleshooting connectivity or boot times, suggesting the score should be understood as a metric of software adoption and usage, rather than employee performance tracking. Microsoft's organizational Productivity Score remains available only to certain tiers of management or admin.
