Printers cry out over loss of N3tr industry

The Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria , President, Mr. Olugbemi Malomo has raised the alarm over the loss of the nation’s N3trillion printing industry to lack of an enabling environment.

“But if I go outside to print books and bring them as education materials, I pay 11 per cent. So, we can’t even compete because of policies. So, everybody goes there, print books, labeling them as education materials and bring them in. So, this policy has to be addressed.” The country, he said, is taking advantage of Nigeria’s moribund paper mills. He urged the Federal Government to revive the existing paper mills for job creation.
