Having advised executives and managers for over two decades, coach Paul Ruiz had his work cut out for him throughout this pandemic.
A relatively niche industry, executive coaching rose to prominence in the late 90s, when Paul worked as a hotelier. Undergoing his own transition into entrepreneurship, Paul launched his coaching practice with his sister and found his calling as a mentor for leaders. He does credit the hotels, however, for his humble beginnings, as they allowed him to learn the necessary problem-solving and people skills to coach his diverse clientele.
Throughout his career, and especially this 2020, coach Paul realized just how complex and unique each organization is with its needs. Whereas some companies struggle with remote work, others thrive. And, when the workplace blends into one's personal space, the needs start to vary on an individual level.
There's a saying going around that, 'we're on the same boat.' I disagree. We're on the same rough ocean but the boats are very different. In this episode, coach Paul explains why more and more business leaders are turning to executive coaches as they go into the new year.
