Taxpayers will have to pay for the high levels of damage violent mobs caused in the US Capitol on Wednesday because the site isn't covered by insurance, industry sources told"Taxpayers will be on the hook for repairs to the Capitol," Stephen Ellis, president of watchdog Taxpayers for Common Sense, said after the building was left covered in litter, graffiti, and broken glass.

Some walls of the Capitol were stained orange after law enforcement used pepper spray to stop rioters from entering the building."Taxpayers will be on the hook for repairs to the Capitol," Stephen Ellis, president of watchdog Taxpayers for Common Sense, told Reuters. DevanteRHill Acts of war and terror aren't usually covered anyway

Bill fucking maga and 45 fuck him

The Republican AG's had money to send out robocalls to tell them to come, I guess they could find some money to pay for the damage they caused.

Why not sue the terrorists?

TheGiraffePod If I'm required to have insurance on my car, home (and during the Obama admin) myself. How do they get away without having insurance coverage?

This should come out of 45's pocket, and the pocket of everyone involved. Along with the some time in Club Fed.

tbell1968 Identify and bill every single person that was there.

How about we send the bull to the Trump corporation, the senators and house reps that supported this behavior

Oh but the government demands us to have insurances.. double standards. We are pawns to big business, lawyers, insurance, and the government.

Assets of the Trump Org should be used!

Not excusing it, but it is PENNIES relative to the damage done by the summer riots.

They should send the bill to Trump and Children, Inc.

😳😠😡🤬

If the Capital needs insurance, taainsurance is happy to help!

No! The traitors are responsible for their desecration!

That goes without saying. However, would love to understand your newsroom decision to report this story, but not issue a similar one several months ago saying taxpayers will pay for damage cause by Portland and other big city riots.

The terms on an insurance contract would make for an interesting read when Capitol is presided by a Republican or a Democrat. Trump’s premium wouldn’t cover the 1st QTR GDP. Trump Biden insurancejobs Gdp premium GOP capitol

In case there's insurance, wouldn't be the taxpayer the ones to pay for it as well?

I encourage all people to report names of those involved in Sedation and Domestic Terrorism. Report their account to Twitter and to FBI active cases number 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324) please do this right away. Let's stop this before it happens again.

What about the damage AntifaBLMTerrorists do to the country?

didn't they broke few doors?

As much as the FBI want to prosecute the people who stormed the Capitol, wouldn’t they be able to defend themselves by saying that the president instructed them to do it?

Every Representative should be demanding Trump’s immediate removal from office. He incited the attack on America’s Representatives... our representatives... us!!! Remove him! Now!

Can’t we just make the domestic terrorists who damaged it pay for it instead?

And who payed for BLM violence ?

I mean, this isn’t really the biggest problem. The US makes that money in taxes in 10 minutes
