Signal won't replace WhatsApp, the cofounder of both encrypted messaging apps says. Instead, people will use the 2 services for different conversations.

For those who are unaware, if you have Gboard installed, Google and so the US gov with a warrant can read your outgoing messages. The Incognito flag is a request only- the app cannot impose it on a non-compliant keyboard. Such a keyboard can be pushed to your device by Google.

As always, especially because everyone cannot flock to Signal. Nor can Signal really accommodate that scale.

I don’t think so. WhatsApp and Signal offer the same functionality. They are not like Facebook and Instagram which are two different products. The chances are people will choose one over the other.
