With Ontario's stay-at-home order now in effect, small businesses are facing yet another challenge to staying afloat.

“I mean, it's a struggle. It’s a real struggle every day,” says Stéphanie Mathieson, co-owner of Art-Is-In Bakery in Ottawa.

The government has allowed non-essential businesses, including hardware stores, to offer curbside pickup only, but some owners say that cuts into impulse sales. “The new rules that Ontario just put into place are absolutely ridiculous,” says CFIB President Dan Kelly. “On one hand, they’re telling consumers they’re not allowed to leave home except for essential purposes. However, they’re also telling retailers, 'Here are your new hours for non-essential retail items.

It’s sad, so many people followed the rules since March 2020 but a bunch of selfish people didn’t and now they’re being punished more.

And unnecessary-US based box stores doing well though. Thanks to Ford Willy ways

If they offer curbside pickup they can still be in business... if you refuse to remodel your business then its your own fault!

If only people had followed the rules, there wouldn’t be lockdowns anywhere If everyone wore masks and kept a safe distance, and had a small bubble, and businesses adapted to protect workers, then things wouldn’t have been like this
