What’s remarkable is that, despite their size, they usually post big increases in revenue and display pricing power. And that was still true in the fourth quarter and all of last year, even in the pandemic environment.
All of these companies have reported their results for the fourth calendar quarter. All have fiscal years that match the calendar year except for Apple, whose fiscal year ends in September. So the following figures are all for the three months through December. All the above sales results are fantastic. Gross margins may have gone either way, but they also show the advantage of certain business models. Facebook’s gross margin is very impressive, even if it has narrowed a bit. Microsoft’s gross margin expanded and that high number reflects the success of its continued movement toward subscription distribution.
