A Port Macquarie restaurant owner has detailed for Sky News his business going underwater in the extreme weather event currently lashing New South Wales.

Whalebone Wharf owner Nathan Tomkins said he had never seen anything like the current floods in the 24 years he had been in the spot. “It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride,” he said.

“This is my whole life you known, it's every part of me, I’ve put everything into it and just coming back from COVID, just starting to show some profits … looking forward to a strong year but you know everything was taken away.” Mr Tomkins said, however, he was receiving an overwhelming amount of support from his friends, family and employees.
