'Stay and fight': Stacey Abrams says companies shouldn't boycott new voting laws, but should speak out against restrictions

Abrams wrote Wednesday that she understands this reflex, but she does not believe boycotts—which would require significant sacrifice—are necessary yet.

She argued a slowdown in sporting events, films and other economic activity in Georgia could harm the same workers who will bear the brunt of the state’s voting law. Instead, Abrams encouraged Georgia-based employers to take clear stances against the restrictions, and to endorse and financially support efforts to make voting easier.“[Leaving] us behind won’t save us,” Abrams wrote. “So I ask you to bring your business to Georgia and, if you’re already here, stay and fight. Stay and vote.”Several Georgia-based companies have spoken out against the voting restrictions.

The key phrase, 'her new voting laws.' Her new voting laws are targeted at Democrats, not Republicans. Everyone has a right to vote but no party has a greater right than any other party. Making it easy for Democrats but not Republicans is cheating.
