The Business Council is urging the Morrison government to bring forward stage three tax cuts to boost the economy.

The stage three changes are currently scheduled to be brought into effect in 2024-2025, benefiting middle to high income earners.

It would mean those earning between 40,000 to 200,000 would see their tax bracket come down from 32.5 per cent to 30 per cent. The Greens argue bringing forward the tax cut will not help to stimulate the economy but will instead turbocharge inequality.

Greed

Remove subsidies from fossil fuel industry and provide stimulus payments to lower income earners. Instant economy booster.
