Ride-hailing company in New York plans all-electric fleet

New York City's Revel, best-known for its shared electric moped service, is aiming to launch an electric-car ride-hailing service using Tesla Inc.

Model Ys, according to an interview with company co-founders in the Wall Street Journal. The plan is to operate in the limited area in Manhattan. City officials told the Journal that Revel doesn't yet have a license to operate in the city, which the founders Frank Reig and Paul Suhey disputed, the report said. The Model Y is Tesla's compact SUV unveiled in 2019. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said earlier this week he expects the SUV to become the world's best-selling vehicle.
