Overnight on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined more than 150 points, marking its third down session in a row.

The U.S. consumer price index for May, set to be reported at 8:30 a.m. ET Thursday, is expected to show headline inflation at 4.7% — the fastest pace since 2008.

SINGAPORE — Shares in Asia-Pacific looked set for a mixed start on Thursday, after the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw itsFutures pointed to a lower open for Japanese stocks. The Nikkei futures contract in Chicago was at 28,850 while its counterpart in Osaka was at 28,830. That compared against theMeanwhile, shares in Australia appeared poised to open little changed. The SPI futures contract sat at 7,272.0, against theOvernight stateside, the Dow dropped 152.68 points to 34,447.
