The National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) has concluded plans to hold a National Gaming Conference for the enhancement of lottery business in Nigeria.

The Director-General of NLRC, Lanre Gbajabiamila who made the disclosure in a statement, yesterday, said all the major and critical stakeholders in the lottery business have been specially invited to take part in the conference and make concrete contributions towards further development of lottery in Nigeria.

The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume would open discussion at the conference, while Yahaya Maikori, founder of Law Alliance is billed to give the keynote address. The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator Obinna Ogba; Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Akin Alabi and Chairman, Governing Board of the Commission, Alhaji Abdulfatai Ibikunle would give the legislative and executive perspectives, respectively.

Topics to be treated at the conference include understanding financial regulatory obligations of gaming operators; Legislative reforms for the gaming industry in the 21st Century; Developing local technology for the Nigerian Gaming Industry: a possibility or myth and responsible gaming and players protection: a call for improvement.
