New data reveals nearly 20,000 companies tripled their turnover yet accrued nearly $370 million in JobKeeper during the first three months of the wage subsidy program.

"The intent of the Parliament was never that we would be giving corporate welfare to firms that were doubling or tripling their earnings."

Most businesses with turnovers below $1 billion a year needed to show or predict at least a 30 per cent turnover fall to qualify at the beginning of the scheme.Once businesses qualified for JobKeeper — including based on a turnover estimate — they continued receiving payments until around the end of September, when turnover tests changed.

If government set about making all people financially secure the covid response would be very different! Open Up is the only call they make. Public Health is not LNP concern. Vote them out!

Off course this has always been the plan, like agedcare, ndis & education public money to go to overseas multinationals as part of the privatisation pilfering of aust by the govt puppets for the rich elite abcnews auspol

bensab3 Let's talk why these companies refuse to give the money back.

It was so lazy.

Boycott these companies jobkeepergreed

Now tell us how many staff they laid off during same period and not just permanent staff

Frydenberg said that businesses wouldn’t have taken the money if they had to pay it back and jobs would have been lost. How does he know? Can he see into parallel universes?

And ScoMo and government still to gutless to get it back and proves Liberals support business over people.

Maybe an online dob in system for employers to report staff who do not want to come to work. Or disaster payment needs to be channeled through employers.

COVID disaster payment is the bigger worry right now. Employees not wanting to turn up to work. Giving themselves 3 days off to take advantage of the $750 payment. Businesses are struggling to get employees back on roster. Something needs to be done.

How can ScoMo and Joshy possibly still have a job?

Seems our business owners don't mind a little Socialism, as long as it favours them.
