Image: Eric Risberg FACEBOOK CHIEF MARK Zuckerberg has announced the parent company’s name is being changed to ‘Meta’ – as the social media giant comes under increased pressure to regulate its service and limit its influence on young children in particular.

“We’ve learned a lot from struggling with social issues and living under closed platforms, and now it is time to take everything that we’ve learned and help build the next chapter,” Zuckerberg said during an annual developers conference.On Monday Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen took questions from UK MPs in London after releasing thousands of pages of internal research documents she secretly copied before leaving her job in the company’s civic integrity unit.
