A company which failed to provide a safe workplace for a teenage boy which resulted in him falling 12 metres to his death at the old Perth post office building is fined $320,000.

Some gaps had been covered with plywood panels, but others remained exposed.

Workers were also not attached to a proper safety system while installing the large, 100-kilogram glass panels.

A fine are you fucking serious chuck someone in jail ffs

Ah OH&S the law the meant to protect all workers from any harm to them. The covid problem

$320,000 is what Capitalism deemed his life to be worth.

Is that how much a teens life worth these days? Smh

And does 320 thousand go to his family?

The amount of $$ companies are fined in relation to worker’s deaths from unsafe practices is woefully inadequate as a deterrent. Why are the fines so low?

If a work site cannot guarantee a basic level of safety for their workers, should they even be in business?

😟 you left the 10 off the start of that right?

😓😓😓

320k.. that’ll show em

You could buy a lot of $70 safety boards for $320k.
