The African National Congress in the Western Cape says it is concerned about what it calls the inhumane evictions of students at the University of the Western Cape

. This follows clashes between students and campus security. UWC has since said the students are being relocated to alternative accommodation. The students in question wanted to remain in their residences over the festive season, even though the university is closed. The university had said it wanted to deep clean the residences.

“We note and welcome the successful interdict by the courts on further evictions until the university finds alternative accommodation for the students. We also welcome efforts at mediation to bring a more sustainable solution to this challenge. To this effect, the ANC will deploy its leadership to UWC on Tuesday 28 December 2021 to attend to this matter and find a lasting solution,” ANC spokesperson Sifiso Mtsweni explains.

Great Job

ANC has failed the black people! We have trusted you to lead the country but what you did was fighting among yourself and stealing from the poor. Now you are lamenting the inhuman way the white government is treating the black people. You have failed.

Wrong picture houtkop

Maybe if the useless ANC did the effort to speak to UWC they will discover the actual facts. But no, just make statements to try and remain relevant, which they are not. MYANC

ANC is a Master of evictions! Many ANC voters have been evicted in the name of investment... The most inhuman political party is ANC among the rest but DA is highly racist political party that aims on bringing back the apartheid style of leadership, they don't care abt poor pple!

Stupid question, what are students still doing at varsity 🤔

Why do these students still want to be at res, don't they want to go home and be with family

Wrong picture sabcnews... This is embarrassing.

This is the wrong picture used in this story. The hall in this picture is at Wits not UWC.

The students are always given the last preference. Who a they gonna tell this to because the management seems to be always ignorant and deceptive, ask ask any student's leader, it knows

Except this is Wits University in the picture, a place your journalists have clearly never visited.

Don't get concerned, act you lead government....

The ANC rules the waves at the it concerned about its own doing?WELL,well, well!!!

VoetsekANC go sort out students in cuba and turkey .

Will the ANC pay their rent?

ANC can't even pay its employees.. They must sit down

Mxm apart from being concerned what are they gonna do about it 😏😏 being concerned not gonna help action into efunekayo

You say UWC but shows wits

Students must learn to vacate the premises at the end of each term especially the year end term, the university must prepare for next students when will they get time to do that,?ANC must encourage students to abide by the rules or the ANC must give them alternative accomodation

It must pay its employees first
