Owner Lee Jones still plans on having the market open by the spring season, utilizing an old farm stand. “When asparagus is poking through the ground, we’ll be open,” he said.

The barn which housed Farmer Jones Farm Market in Huron burned down on Friday, Jan. 14. HURON, Ohio – A fire destroyed a Huron barn that housed Farmer Jones Farm Market, located at 1517 Scheid Road.

Lee Jones said no one was injured, and the fire was contained to one barn. He learned the fire broke out at 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 14, when somebody knocked on his door and told him the barn was engulfed in flames. That person - likely a neighbor or someone passing the farm, Lee said - also called 911. While acknowledging the loss of agricultural artifacts and family history in the barn, Lee said the fire could have been worse.
