Target announced Monday that it is raising its starting wage for hourly workers in some positions to up to $24.

Target announced Monday that it is raising its starting wage for workers in some positions to up to $24.

Target in 2020 set its minimum wage at $15. That will remain in place, but Target said some workers will qualify for higher starting pay based on the nature of their job and the prevailing competitive wages in their local market. Under the plan, Target's hourly employees who work a minimum average of 25 hours a week will be eligible to enroll in a company medical plan. That's down from the previous requirement of 30 hours per week.

This is BS. Most the workers on front lines busting ass will not see t Close to this... I know

Probably manager positions only lol

How many hours are they going to give those hourly workers?

The Target in Ellicott city, MD has an excellent staff and they earn every penny. I’m happy to see them being paid what they are worth.

That’s awesome because.. mortgage, gas, etc… keeps going up so $20 looks like $8.50 when it’s all said an done. So $8.50 now looks like an internship

We all know this got some bs all over it but this ain’t the time to cry about wage disparities in jobs like nobody’s allowed to make anything unless your a Doctor or a Software Engineer.

I’m going ha ha

And yet people do harder jobs than this and make way less? Bull.

“In some positions” 😂

Insane. Nurses are saving lives and most don’t make much more than that!

So pretty much everything they sell will double in price.

Yeah, right. Probably management, not the average worker.

Net net. They r cutting hours and reducing cashiers. Also- try to find help in the aisles. And no mention of the price hikes on the way.. that they will attribute to supply chain issues.

24 dollars an hour ,times 15 hours a week, equals poverty.

It was $7/hr Five years ago lol

Lots of places pay well. For jobs that take skill, experience, or leadership rolls. It’s the level entry stuff that kills me when people want this kinda money.

I Like target

Recently saw a tweet from a woman who was chatting to a Costco cashier. Cashier had worked at Costco for 40 years and her 401K was worth $3 million. Treating employees well makes a difference.

They just cut everyone’s hours ffs. Way to spin things.

“Some jobs”? Just a sound bite…you need to do better.

What workers? The last time I was in Target there were no cashiers, only self checkout.

what positions specifically?

Good.
