The global number of new COVID19 cases and deaths decreased by 16% and 10%, respectively, compared with the numbers reported during the previous week, according to a World Health Organisation (WHO) report released on Tuesday.

Across the six WHO regions, over 10 million new cases and over 60 000 new deaths were reported during the week from February 21 to 27. By the end of the week, over 433 million confirmed cases and over 5.9 million deaths had been reported globally.
