Independent Rental has created a contest designed to benefit consumers and businesses alike: “52 Weeks of Supporting Local.”

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A family-owned local Fairbanks business, called Independent Rental, has created a contest designed to benefit consumers and businesses alike, and they’re calling it “52 Weeks of Supporting Local.”

Each week this year, Independent Rental will highlight a locally owned small business on its Facebook page. “This contest is meant to help promote the importance of supporting local small businesses,” Wilder explained. Throughout the week promoting the current small business, interested community members will have the opportunity to “like” Independent Rental on Facebook to be entered in a drawing.

Wilder said, “This week, Roaming Roots Cellar has donated a $25 gift certificate,” adding that there will be many more local businesses highlighted throughout the course of the year.
