‘Its Not Worth It’: HVAC Company Says It Will No Longer Service Customers in Downtown Denver

“It’s not really worth it to put up with it,” said Tony Cirbo, operations manager for AC Mechanical and Engineering. He said the company works up and down the front range with about 100 industrial and commercial clients.

But Cirbo said, after hearing from field crews who were “very nervous” working in parts of downtown, the company made the decision to turn down work requests from downtown Denver. Cirbo said the business decision was also due in part to the fact that the company only had two clients in downtown Denver.

But he said his crews complained about coming across needles, drug paraphernalia, feces and were concerned about theft. In a recent email to a downtown customer, Cirbo wrote, “We made a decision as a company not to do any work downtown almost two years . The technicians were tired of stepping over needles, human feces, vans getting broken into, etc.”

He told CBS4 ,”You don’t know whats going to happen,” and he felt thieves in downtown Denver would steal “anything that’s not locked down.”Public Called To Help Curb Downtown Denver Crime: ‘Be Part Of It By Showing Up’ And on one downtown business that implemented a ‘Crime Spike Fee’ to address rising shoplifting rates:

If you want to actually address the situation, vote every single Denver county and district judge out. They have failed the citizens of colorado

Mayor Hancock, Gov. Polis, and the soft on crime, do nothing, liberal state legislature, and city of Denver are to blame.

And quite frankly if you can’t afford to live in the state get the fuck out - that’s the problem - pwt come into our beautiful Colorado thinking “hey I get to smoke pot” ….well we can see what a shit show it is….POLIS - clean up your city!

Well not too sure about this Clickbait bullshit 🙄….but downtown Denver is awful….AWFUL- Believe the word is shit show- quite frankly where is all the money from the cannabis sales Colorado ? POLIS-clean up your city🙄

This is not news. You guys are the bottom of the barrel.

Lmfao y’all wanna be impressed so bad

He should move out of wheat ridge too. They've got all the same problems that Denver has

A blue state with a soy boy governor who mocks the Governor of Florida where all the HVAC technicians visit every city and neighborhood. Get some help getting that 2 by 4 out of your eye, gov.

They had two clients and were scared of needles and poo. Sounds like an ignorant company.

This feels like really lazy journalism. The business stopped accepting contracts 2 years ago? And only had two clients? And their staff reported being, “nervous?” And there’s no source for where they got this article photo from

Can we get an update on this MayorHancock lol

Denver's a real Shethole!

didn't know this was a trash 'news' publication. Definitely won't bother checking out any of your reporting, thanks!

Fear porn

🤡

That’s not much of a story if they only had two customers downtown.

did a very good job of getting the bot trolls out. Bravo.

Heavy hitting stuff from this moron urn down work requests from downtown Denver. Cirbo said the business decision was also due in part to the fact that the company only had two clients in downtown Denver.

Some of us are old enough to remember what downtown CityofDenver was like in the 80s. Coors Field changed that for several years. It's getting bad again.

Play stupid games, and win stupid prizes. This is what Colorado voters voted for. Sadly, they'll vote for it again, and again, and again. Then when things get really bad, they'll say 'F... this, I'm moving out' and take their voting habits elsewhere.

GovofCO yup all you and your party VoteThemOut

Cirbo said the business decision was also due in part to the fact that the company only had two clients in downtown Denver.

Dems will do anything but admit homelessness is an issue LMFAOO

Denver has made downtown a nightmare for contractors for years. They used to have contractor parking passes which made servicing clients practical, but no more. I quit accepting jobs there 15 years ago.

Band-Aides, the real problem is bigger than any politician..

Damn. What a clickbait headline. They literally had 2 customers downtown out of the hundreds of profitable and thriving businesses. Expected more from .

Two customers. Wow. What a story.

Can’t blame them!

And no one ever ever talks about the mayor

Sometimes I almost feel bad for y'all having to publish the rightwing dribble faux panic articles over and over like it's actual 'news'. But then I remember that if you're accepting the paycheck you have no scruples and are not decent people.

lol CBS denver doing a DougJBalloon White HVAC owner who lives in the suburbs thinks 'all of Denver' is dangerous jfc come the fuck on -- this is how he describes himself on the company website: antifasenpai horatioalgorthm look at this bit material

Tony Cirbo made this decision two years ago and is mostly justified by his lack business in downtown. I am not saying downtown is perfect but his description here is categorically false. No, people are not stepping on needles/feces, especially at businesses. Click bait post
