The stock market moved lower on Thursday—pushing the S&P 500 to the brink of bear market territory—as investors continued to offload shares following warnings from major retailers about inflationary pressures.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1%, over 300 points, while the S&P 500 lost 0.8% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite 0.2%.
