The return-to-work rebellion is getting serious, as employees push to make their remote arrangements permanent.

Some of the economy’s most in-demand employees are about to find out how much power they have over where and how they work.

After months of return-to-work starts and stops, many tech companies, including Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. , are telling remote workersfor good, or at least show up part of the week. Employees who fled the Bay Area and other high-cost tech hubs earlier in the Covid-19 pandemic—or who just prefer to work from home—now face hard choices: move back, try the super commute, or hold out for a concession or new job elsewhere.

Lazy, no social skills. The competencies of the modern day worker.

Backward as usual, corporate America. Gas prices at all time highs, why are we not encouraging people who can work from home to work from home? Give me a reason other than corporations need to justify their bloated real estate holdings.

Why does it have to be a fight? Isn't it an opportunity? I can't see the world changing when things have dramatically shifted.

It's past time that the Bosses started to feel the shaft!

That will change with 🚀layoffs...Lol ...

Interesting because the first people fired in a downturn will be remote workers also workers returning the office will rebel against having to do any sort of zoom like meetings with remote folks. I’ve talked to several HR managers saying they will pay in office workers more.

There’s no legitimate argument for in person work. There were studies saying this before the pandemic happened. It’s mostly old generations like boomers and some Gen X who are trying to make in office happen, and they are learning the hard way you will sink your company like that
