Lake Creek is a first-time state champion in just its fourth year of existence.

“It’s surreal,” Lake Creek junior catcher Kalee Rochinski said as she held the championship trophy. “It doesn’t feel real. Going undefeated and winning it was just crazy.” “I just knew it,” Lake Creek senior second baseman Caelee Clark said when she saw McKee make that play. “Maddie got a good little hop on it and I just knew it was going to be an out. It was great.”

Lake Creek took a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Payton Bauer was hit by an up-and-in pitch with the bases loaded.
