A company has revealed its quote it sent to the New South Wales government to install the Aboriginal flag onto Sydney's iconic landmark as taxpayers were left stunned about the initial $25 million price tag.

Premier Dominic Perrottet announced over the weekend a staggering $25 million will be put aside in the state budget on Tuesday for the project.

A flagpole company quoted the NSW government less than $650,000 for the project of erecting the Aboriginal flag permanently onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge as well as replacing the existing poles flying the Australian and NSW flag. Picture: Justin Lloyd Lauren Mace from Poseidon Poles and Flags said one of the reasons for the shock $25m price tag could be safety.

Goldspar, who were left"shocked" by the government's estimation, suggested it would cost between $30,000 to $40,000 for a regular 20-metre pole. But one day later and following the outrage, he said he will be going through the costs"line by line" to ensure NSW taxpayers were getting"value for money". “But like your listeners and most fair-minded people across the state it seems to be a pretty ridiculous and outrageous cost."

Just leave it there in place of the state flag. No cost.

Enough keep that Flag off our Harbor Bridge..One Flag one Country..

I can get it done for $20 mill. But I cant do $1 less.

So let me get this right, $25m for a flag but not for say….actually helping aboriginal people.

So does the cost of $25m cover the cost of pole & flag how often to replace the flag as its ripped apart by the weather, or is that extra on top of the pole price alone?

These sorts of decisions show just how out of touch governments are with the rest of the country. Apart from the ridiculous cost, this continual appeasement for a minority of the population is devisive and needs to stop 😬

If you genuinely care about Australian society & making a better life for all, don't read/fund Murdoch or any of his crumbmaidens & flying monkeys. He creates diversions so he & his 'mates' can pick your pocket. He promotes division & hate over trivial issues for profit & power!
