Gavin Williamson has taken on the job less than a year after leaving the role of education secretary

The former education minister will earn around £50,000 a year from the second job, according to The Guardian.Sir Gavin was twice sacked as a Cabinet minister and oversaw the exams fiasco in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There is an overlap with your work and responsibilities as the Secretary of State for education and this role in the education sector,” according to Acoba. It went on to conclude that there was only a “limited” risk that Sir Gavin could have access to sensitive information of benefit to RTC Education.

£50k as a SECOND income? Ask Mr Williamson how much a TA gets! 🤬

He has a job already as an MP, surely he's too busy looking after the people of South staffs

So this week alone we had Carriegate and one sexual assault, ive actually lost count of the amount of tories recently exposed for sexual assault.

Evidence would suggest that being an MP is a part time job. He's literally, paying someone to do his case work and taking on a £50k role to fill the time he's made available.

Who said incompetence doesn't pay

Well blow me away!

Hope he doesn't choke on it

This is waht is wrog woth th whole Political system . They should ever be allowed to profit from cotacts mad whilst in a previous post . Drain the sswamp .

*He* took the job? But I thought…

Corruption.

Seriously?! Who would pay him for advice on anything?!

Presumably ACOBA advised him he could accept this role? Ex ministers are not allowed to lobby government for 2 years after leaving office.

Every time this particular photo pops up I remember what a vain and vacuous man he is. And how we pay for all these ‘official’ photos.

Presumably they'll ask his advice and then do the opposite?

Another £50k a year. That’s hard to swallow.

They're paying for access. Giving £625 per hour to this utter dunce on EDUCATIONAL matters makes zero sense unless it's cash for access.

50 grand for being useless

Literally could not find his arse with both hands.

'keep quiet old boy and you'll get a knighthood and Carrie will give you a quick nosh off too'

Ffs

😠

that's a blow
