NorthPort star Arwind Santos reached another milestone in his colorful 16-year PBA career as he joined an elite company as the 17th member of the league’s 10,000-point club on Saturday, July 2.

Santos, who played and scored most of those 10,000 career points with the SMB franchise, reached the milestone at the Beermen’s expense after nailing a tough fadeaway jumper over the outstretched arms of June Mar Fajardo at the 11:20 mark of the third frame.

Santos became only the 16th local to achieve the feat and only the third in the last 21 years with James Yap and Mark Caguioa being the last two players to join the exclusive list in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Norman Black was the lone import to record the feat in the PBA. Santos wound up with 25 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks although his former team spoiled the party as SMB pulled away in the final frame for a 122-106 victory. Santos’ career milestone was also the lone bright spot for the Batang Pier who now have absorbed its fifth straight loss for a 2-5 record
