A recent report claims that Nikon will withdraw from the SLR camera industry to focus on their mirrorless cameras, but Nikon has since responded with a statement.

is perhaps one of the most well-known brands out there when it comes to cameras and imaging products, together with the likes of Sony, Canon, Leica and more. Its historic Nikon F single-lens reflex camera shot Nikon to fame among photographers when it debuted in 1959.

The Japanese company’s last flagship SLR was the D6, released in June 2020, with no new SLR models since. Additionally, Nikkei Asia says that Nikon has completely halted compact digital cameras too. While Nikon’s focus will now be on digital mirrorless cameras, it was also reported that production and distribution of their existing SLR models will continue for now.
