A former publican has been banned for life from the liquor and gaming industry after assaulting two patrons outside a venue in Sydney's south.In October 2019, Quinlan drank excessively with a man and woman, who later had to be carried downstairs before turning violent.CCTV shows Quinlan, 59, stomping on the man, which left him with facial injuries and fractured ribs.

The former publican was sentenced to more than 200 hours of intensive community service and had two apprehended violence orders taken out against him. The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority has banned Quinlan for life from working in the industry."In this case, it was such a shocking breach that we've booted him out of the industry for life and I think that's absolutely appropriate."Life bans in the liquor and gaming industry are rare and In the past five years, only two other publicans have been issued with the heavy sentence.

Mark O'Neill was blacklisted in 2020, after being convicted of fraud at Old Bar Tavern on the state's Mid North Coast. The former owner of Dollhouse nightspot, Ulysses Flevotomos, was also banned for allegedly allowing illegal drugs and sex acts in his Potts Point strip club.
