Manoj and Yeshi Pradhan recently opened Namaste Neighborhood Pharmacy at 200 S. Progress Ave. in Susquehanna Township. The independent pharmacy offers many of the same services as chain pharmacies.Growing up in Bhutan, Manoj Pradhan nearly died from a reaction to malaria medication.

That near-death experience inspired a career path that recently brought Manoj to central Pennsylvania. Manoj, who received his degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, is by all accounts the first Bhutanese person to become a pharmacist in the United States. He opened his first pharmacy under the same name in 2019 near Atlanta, Ga.
