PUTRAJAYA: The gazetting of the maximum retail price of bottled cooking oil will be implemented by taking into account the interests of the industry and the welfare of consumers, says Datuk Rosol Wahid.
"We have to put a balance, traders need to run their business wisely and the consumers must also be smart,” said the Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister after the pre-launch of the 2022 Malaysian sale programme’s spend and win lucky draw here. Annuar said the move was deemed necessary after discussions with the industry to lower the price of cooking oil were proven ineffective despite the decline in crude palm oil prices.
