“We listen respectfully to the proposals that are put to us, but we are not currently working up

a windfall tax or anything that looks like that,” Mr Chalmers said during Question Time on Monday.

A 5 percent turnover tax would probably be a better option for all.

So not denying it?

The Government should have the balls to step in and make it illegal to sell essential goods overseas at the detriment of the Australian public. Gas supplies are adequate for domestic use and by selling it overseas is putting domestic supply at risk.

Why not? They are making money from Australian goods. Profits should be shared with everyday Australians. Make sense to me.

Australians have elected clones, Albo Morrison and Jim Frydenberg who are continuing LNP policies. Australians we have been had. abcnews newscomauHQ

Hey at least he didn’t lie about it. To the point

It’s not really a windfall. They are selling a product at market rates. It’s a global price. Yes their profits are up, that’s to be expected, but the claim they are profiteering is nonsense. They are charging the going rate.

I'd be happy with legislation guaranteeing a minimum percentage of production is reserved for domestic use. auspoI
