, vice president for development and alumni engagement, said 75% of the gifts were focused on scholarships for students, while the other 25% included gifts for facilities, programs or money without a tie to a program.The school already is underway on upgrades at Melching Field — where the Stetson Hatters baseball team plays — which includes a new field, new video board and three new rows of seating behind home plate.

Stetson also will spend $17.9 million to upgrade the Edmunds Center, where its volleyball, and men's and women's basketball teams play. After the upcoming basketball season ends in 2023, the 4,000-seat area will add a new video board, replace seats, place a new court surface and upgrade the stadium to better meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.is set to open in November. That 40,000-square-foot building that got an $18 million donation from Cici and Hyatt Brown in 2018.
