To actually reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Canada needs readily available alternatives to high carbon consumer products and practices

On Tuesday morning, B.C. NDP MP Bonita Zarrillo tweeted, “Is indoor skating ice even a necessity anymore? Can every ice sport be done without ice and different equipment?…just pondering the climate impact of human-made indoor ice.”

By deleting the Tweet, did the NDP MP, actually flip flop on climate policy instead of leaning into it?Article content Earlier this year the Liberal government announced that it would ban the sale of diesel and gasoline powered trucks in the relatively near future. And in recent years, the Liberals have also passed multiple pieces of legislation that have been designed to stop investment in Canada’s energy sector. They have also imposed a general carbon tax.

The left responds the same way to anyone who constructively points out that shuttering Canada’s energy sector, while the world is still largely dependent on carbon energy, has the net negative effect of making it more dependent on carbon energy produced in countries with lower environmental and human rights standards than Canada.

rexglacer This is why nobody takes the NDP seriously

They simply want to kill our fun, our way of life, our spirit. cdnpoli UpShitCreek climatehysteria

Considering how good the energy industry is doing right now (record oil production, record natural gas production, record LNG investment, record pipeline employment, large hydrogen investments...), this is a pretty strong endorsement of the NDP, national post.

If it’s so ridiculous, then tell the NHL who is also evaluating their climate impact.

It is going to be renamed The Onion Party in keeping with its bizarre stances.

They are not talking about the energy industry. They only care about big oil. Instead of concentrating on hydro, wind, and hydrogen we are concentrating on competing in oil where other countries have a advantage. Canada could be a leader in green technology with a level field.

It was a idle comment. The attention being paid to it by rags like the National Post is being made for no other reason then to enrage people and push other agendas.

MichelleRempel Yeah, the environment will save itself and we shouldn’t be trying to find alternate solutions to save our world…

MichelleRempel Looking forward to seeing this ravaged soon by 22_Minutes

Oh look who took a break from sipping wine in Oklahoma long enough to insult some Canadians.

Who said anything about killing the energy industry? EVER!

Thank God she recanted that statement.

Garner is a Liberal. Her support of Brown should make anyone supporting her horrified that she has the gall to run as a conservative. Time for her to go away.

Honestly, a comment like ice less hockey is to be expected from the NDP, sadly, there was probably a lot of thought and discussion put into that comment

Yeah. Thats gonna happen....

Imagine tweeting that while our boys are killing it at the World Juniors smh.
