A former international investment bank employee from Jersey City made a series of chilling and graphic death threats to at least four former co-workers over an 18-month span, federal authorities announced Wednesday. Gawargyous, aka “George” Shind, 31, has been charged with cyberstalking, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced. Shind was scheduled to appear by videoconference Wednesday afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor in Newark federal court.

Authorities said that between April 2020 and November 2021 harassed at least four women and their families in text messages from prepaid cell phones. The cyberstalking began after Shind, who referred to himself as a “predator,” was fired from the Jersey City international investment bank where he and the victims were employed.
