It hasn’t been the day, the week, the month or even the year for brokers trying to fill large voids of retail space in downtown San Francisco, but one block in Union Square is getting ready to cash in on some ’90s nostalgia: For the next few months, a “Friends” pop-up is set to take over the massive former H&M space at 150 Powell St.
Spanning 12 rooms, two stories and about 44,000 square feet — so, you know, on par with Rachel’s apartment — the city's latest pop-up exhibition recreates sets from the famous sitcom for guests to walk through and take pictures, interact with props and purchase merch available in an adjacent gift shop.
