Mid-market private equity investor Corner Capital has bought a minority stake in Geelong pre-mixed concrete business Cubic Mini Mix, in its first investment.

Corner Capital, backed by Carsales founder Greg Roebuck and other Melbourne heavy-hitters, has acquired a minority stake in Geelong pre-mixed concrete business Cubic Mini Mix, in its first investment.Scott Barbour

The deal would see Cubic’s founder Sandro Di Lorenzo remain in the business, while Corner put in an operational employee, hiring Jack Mactier from Hanson Australia, who would act as a second-in-command to the founder. The firm was founded in September 2019 by Ferdinand Kayakesen, who formerly worked at Macquarie Asset Management as a division director and head of distribution and at Seidler Equity Partners as an investment director.
